11 – 12:30 pm
Welcome aboard! Cruise along the Des Moines River on the Jon Anderson White Riverboat, an elegant refurbished sternwheeler. Leisurely explore the natural beauty of the historic riverbanks and capture the spirit of a revitalized city. Enjoy the Bateau Mouche French Picnic Basket during their lunch cruise. 12:30 – 3:00 pm
Located just south of Des Moines on 12.5 acres of vineyard in northern
Warren County is Summerset Winery. Producing over 155,000 bottles of wine a year, Summerset is the largest producing winery in Iowa. Visit the wine tasting room, gift shop, wine cellar, and grand banquet hall. Groups can enjoy many activities, from special events, Sunday Tunes (held outdoors & indoors), Fall Harvest – grape stomping celebration (a perfect way to submerge yourself in the wine-making experience) to traditional wine tastings and tours.

3 – 3:30 pm
Head 20 miles northwest, just west of Des Moines to the Sleep Inn, Urbandale. Groups enjoy their contemporary room styles. They are perfect for today’s travelers and feature a variety of room types to fit individual needs.

3:30 – 5:00 pm
Within walking distance from the hotel is the Living History Farm. Take their Step Saver Tour. This tour is ideal for groups with time or mobility limitations. It includes the town of Walnut Hill, 1900 Farm & Wallace Exhibit Center.

5 – 7:30 pm

7:30 – 10:00 pm
Conveniently located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, The Des Moines Playhouse is the second largest community theatre in the US, and also one of the oldest. From today’s most talked-about musicals to riveting classic plays, they provide high quality theatre at affordable prices. Upcoming productions include the hit musicals The Drowsy Chaperone, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, and The Wedding Singer; the contemporary comedy Duck Hunter Shoots Angel; and the family musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
