Itinerary for Theatre Lovers in Illinois

Day One

9 – 11:00 am
Travel the rolling countryside in Jo Daviess County, near Hanover, IL to the Rocky Waters Vineyard & Winery. A family-owned winery located on a beautiful 25-acre vineyard. Visit the winery, gift shop, tasting room and vineyard, all while enjoying the gorgeous views of the bluff overlooking the vineyard.

11 – 12:00 pm
Take a short drive south to the Savanna Army Depot & Military Museum. The Museum houses large geographic topographical maps of the entire property plus artifacts and memorabilia from this large installation, which operated from 1917 through 1990. Used for testing field artillery, once the largest munitions depot in the country.

12 – 1:30 pm
Kick back with a casual lunch at Buck’s Barn Golf Resort in Thomson. The antique farm implements that decorate the walls provide a lesson in history, as well as interesting topics for conversation.

1:30 – 4:00 pm
A fabulous performance awaits you at Timber Lake Playhouse, located in a wooded setting of Mount Carroll. This quality, live theater has been around for more than 40 years. 4 – 5:00 pm
