10 – 12:00 p.m.
Start off by checking in to one of the Chicago Southland’s many wonderful and affordable hotels. With over 60 lodging facilities, you will find the amenities, comfort, and service every traveler is looking for and within your budget, too.
12 – 4:00 p.m.
Drive to Palos Heights and spend the afternoon at Lake Katherine Nature Center & Botanic Gardens, known as the crown jewel of Palos Heights. Your group can participate in one of their group educational programs. Maybe your group would like to volunteer! Past group projects include removing invasive species, trail chipping, planting, weeding, and general clean-up.
4 – 6:00 p.m
Head back to your hotel for some rest and maybe some shopping along the way.
6 – 7:00 p.m.
Some of the best restaurants in Illinois call Tinley Park home.With all the great choices, you will find that perfect dining experience for your group that will satisfy both budget and taste. After dinner be sure to enjoy Tinley Park’s Benches on the Avenue public art program. It has become one of the village’s most popular attractions. On display along Oak Park Avenue from May through September, these colorful benches bring to life the chosen theme of the season.
8 – 2:00 p.m.
Make your way to beautiful and historic downtown Frankfort. A variety of small boutique shops along tree-lined streets offer personal service and selections you won’t find at the local mall. Find something special and enjoy a relaxing shopping experience in our quaint, small town setting.
2 – 4:00 p.m.
Take a break from shopping and find a bit of peace and tranquility among the wild prairie swales around Governors State University in the Nathan Manilow Sculpture Park. Some 27 monumental statues from masters of contemporary sculpture are scattered throughout the pristine landscape.
4 – 8:00 pm
For an exciting evening of racing, head over to Balmoral Park Race Track in Crete, a premier harness racing facility. Have dinner in the cheerful ambiance that prevails throughout the Balmoral Club Dining Room overlooking the spectacular 1-mile track.
