Sertoma Butterfly House

Your tour winds over to the Outdoor Campus to experience the area’s nature. When tour planners call ahead, they can set up a class specifically for their group, touching on topics such as Dutch-oven cooking, butterflies, or nature hikes. Or visit nearby Sertoma Butterfly House & Purdy Marine Cove and walk amongst 800 butterflies from all around the world.

3 – 5:00 pm

Travel just east of the city limits to explore Arrowhead Park, named after a large, arrowhead shaped granite quarry, which is one of three historic quarries that are now lakes.  The area is now a bird sanctuary—a haven for bird watching, so bring your binoculars!  Stones from these quarries were used to build several buildings in downtown Sioux Falls.

5 – 7:00 pm

Complete your day at Strawbale Winery for wine tasting in a building constructed of strawbales! Tucked away between a 100-year-old barn, shelter belt, and grape vines, this winery, may remind you of simpler time. Enjoy their wine, the outdoors, and learn all about the process of producing South Dakota wine from locally grown grapes and fruits. Ask them to make arrangements for a catered meal for your group.

7:00 pm

Head back to your hotel or enjoy the endless selections of bars and restaurants for a night cap.
