Relaxing With Nature in Central Minnesota

This sample itinerary can be customized for any time of year.

DAY ONE
11:00am – 1:00pm
Wine and dine over lunch at Millner Heritage Vineyard & Winery in Kimball, MN. Choose from a variety of food items to accommodate your group, take a ride through the vineyard, explore the process of winemaking, and end with a wine tasting!

1 – 3:00pm
Take a short drive to Cold Spring, MN. Explore the famous grasshopper plagues of the 1870s with a visit to the Assumption Chapel—also known as the Grasshopper Chapel. The building was reconstructed in 1952 and is still used today for mass ceremonies on the hill, celebrating a safe planting season and good harvest.

3 – 5:00pm
On to Collegeville, MN to visit the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library located at Saint John’s University. Take a tour of over 100,000 medieval manuscripts on microfilm and digital images. Original folios from the Saint John’s Bible are also on display.

5 – 7:00pm
Take another short drive to St. Cloud, MN. Dinner this evening is at Anton’s, where your group will enjoy delicious popovers, a diverse menu, and beautiful views of the Sauk River.

7 – 8:00pm
Check into one of St. Cloud’s many group-friendly hotels. Freshen up, and get ready for your entertainment tonight!

8:00pm
Enjoy an evening of entertainment at the Paramount Theater or Pioneer Place on Fifth. Both venues feature concerts, plays, musicals, and comedy throughout the year.

 

DAY TWO
10:00am – 12:00pm

What better way to start out your morning than with a trip to Munsinger Clemens Gardens? Two beautifully different gardens on the banks of the Mississippi invite you to stroll through their perfectly manicured landscapes while you take in the beauty of the morning. Visit the gift shop for one-of-a-kind treasures!

12 – 4:00pm
Welcome to the heart of downtown St. Cloud! The Downtown Historic District continues to expand, with new boutiques and restaurants springing up each year. Take a self-guided walking tour among the quaint shops and view art sculptures along the way. Find a unique spot to stop for lunch!

4 – 6:00pm
Take a lovely evening stroll down the Beaver Island Trail. Starting by the convention center in downtown St. Cloud, this quaint trail winds along the Mississippi River showing off the beautiful nature in the heart of the city.

6 – 8:00pm
Enjoy local fare and delicious dishes at Third Floor at DB’s located in downtown St. Cloud for your dinner this evening.
