1 – 2:30 pm
Begin your tour at Caponi Art Park/Learning Center. Located on 60-acres of rolling wooded hills in Eagan. Caponi Art Park is unique in the way it blends the beauty of nature with art to create a symphony of all the physical elements and creative activities that take place in the park. The Art Park’s most prominent features include miles of wooded walking trails, a one-of-a-kind Sculpture Garden and the Theater in the Woods outdoor amphitheater.
2:30 – 4:30 pm
Take a ½ hour ride to Como Park and the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. Tropical Encounters is one of their many exhibits and offers a total emersion experience, which allows guests to visit an authentic neo-tropical rainforest and explore the relationships between plants and animals. The conservatory is home to the beautiful sunken gardens and seasonal flower displays making this a must-see anytime of the year. Next, take a step back in time and ride Cafesjian’s Carousel located in a $1.1 million dollar copper-roofed pavilion just steps from the entrance to Como Zoo.
Enjoy dinner at one of Eagan’s many dining establishments. One to consider is Doolittles Woodfire Grill. Check into your hotel for the evening.
8 – 9:00 am
Rise and shine to breakfast at your hotel before getting back on the road to St. Paul.
9:30 – 11 am
Arrive at the Science Museum of Minnesota, built into the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. This museum offers visitors of all ages a Cell Lab, a Physics Lab, an Exhibit of Questionable Medical Devices and a rotating dual-screen IMAX/Omnimax theater. Known worldwide for its interactive exhibits and dynamic traveling exhibitions.
11 – 3:00 pm
Climb aboard for a special four-hour trip, including lunch, from Harriet Island, St. Paul, up river through Lock and Dam #1 into Minneapolis and back. Groups are entertained by lively banjo music and spectacular scenery and historical narration. You will pass through one of America’s deepest locks.
