Travel to nearby Austin, MN for a visit to the famous SPAM® Museum! This fun and educational attraction features audios, videos, and displays depicting the rich 117-year history of the Hormel Foods Corporation. Take a tour through a myriad of exhibits and eras for a one-of-a-kind interactive experience. The museum complex houses the SPAM® Shop that includes more than 400 SPAM® and Hormel Foods logo items. Free admission!
1 – 5:00pm
Head down I-90 to Albert Lea. Adventure awaits your group at Myre-Big Island State Park. Many species of migrating birds inhabit these wetlands, prairies, and woodlands for some of the best wildlife viewing around. Explore the 16 miles of hiking trails or rent out canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards for an afternoon on the water.

Check into one of Albert Lea’s many group-friendly hotels and freshen up for tonight’s cruise!
6 – 8:00pm
Enjoy a breathtaking tour and dinner cruise on picturesque Albert Lea Lake on the Pelican Breeze II Cruise Boat. Sit back and relax on this 60-foot riverboat replica. Enjoy wildlife and the historic sites as your guides describe the history behind this charming natural area.
10:00am – 2:00pm
Just south of the Minnesota border you will find Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, IA—the perfect place for some casino action! 2 – 8:00pm
A quick trip back into Minnesota will land you in the city of Emmons. Pheasant Links is 365 acres of pristine, natural woodlands perfect for sport enthusiasts. Hunt waterfowl and upland birds, shoot sporting clays, or play golf on their challenging course. After your afternoon adventures, share a drink—along with a few good stories—around the roaring stone fireplace. Enjoy a warm, savory, fresh meal in the clubhouse for dinner.
8 – 9:00pm
Head back into Albert Lea to your hotel and rest up for day three!

Explore the history of Freeborn County at the Freeborn County Historical Museum. The museum includes a historical village with 18 buildings, and many unique exhibits showing off the story of Southern Minnesota.
If your group happens to be visiting at the beginning of October, you won’t want to miss Albert Lea’s 30th Annual Big Island Rendezvous on October 1st & 2nd! See the historic fur trade period come to life with a voyageur encampment, Native American tipi tours, the Scottish Clann Tartan, New Ulm Battery, and many early American crafts such as woodworking, blacksmithing, and candle making (just to name a few). Purchase period wares, taste authentic cuisine, and experience the sights and sounds of history.
